FAQs

Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice that involves inserting thin, metallic, sterile needles into specific points on the body to stimulate the body's natural healing processes. These points are connected to pathways of energy flow, called qi (pronounced "chee"), which circulates through the body. An imbalance or blockage in the flow of qi can lead to illness or pain, and acupuncture can help restore balance and improve health.
The process of acupuncture typically involves the practitioner assessing the patient's symptoms, selecting specific points on the body, and then inserting fine needles into the skin at these points. The needles are generally left in place about half an hour, depending on the treatment.

Acupuncture tends to be most effective when used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan and after multiple sessions. Improvement might be gradual, and results vary from person to person. Check in with yourself — changes in your symptoms, energy levels, mental state, reduction in pain, and overall well-being can help you gauge whether acupuncture is working for you.
We encourage you to communicate openly with your acupuncturist about your experience, and we can adjust your treatment accordingly. -
